Bringing Clean Energy Home to Oak Park

We invite you to join us on January 26th at 6pm at the CRC in Oak Park for our second annual event to discuss the future of state and local climate action!

Join local and statewide climate leaders to learn how recently passed policies like the Clean and Reliable Grid Act and The Northern Illinois Transit Authority are accelerating the transition to clean energy in our State and learn about Oak Park’s clean energy grants and programs to help your household take positive steps toward fighting climate change.

On "Sun Day," Sunday, Sept. 21, 3-4pm, Oak Park Climate Action Network presents a free webinar all about COMMUNITY SOLAR. Learn how anyone with an electricity account can subscribe for a share in a solar "farm" and save money on their energy costs. Presenters include Grace Concialdi of Citizens Utility Board and Art Spooner, Oak Park condo owner and community solar subscriber, followed by Q&A. It's free but registration is required. Sun Day--a nationwide celebration of clean energy progress— gives each of us a chance to stand up for the solar and wind power that's making our communities healthier, quieter, and more affordable.

In Chicago, the Sun Day Solar Fest will be September 21st from Noon - 4PM at Montrose Beach (adjacent to the dog park) at 610 W Lawrence, Chicago, IL 60613 US. 

Join an Illinois Solar for All: Bright Neighborhoods event to learn more about this limited-time initiative that allows residents in select Chicago West Side Neighborhoods, Waukegan, and the Carbondale-Marion area to save on electric bills!

The Bright Neighborhoods initiative helps income-eligible participants in selected communities save money on electric bills by installing solar panels with no upfront costs.

Are you a homeowner? Join us to learn more about solar & other ways to save on your electric bill!
Income-eligible households may benefit from this program through the installation of solar panels on their property. Hear from homeowners who have gone solar with Illinois Solar for All.
Learn about free solar job training programs as well.

The event is on March 6th, 5:30-7 pm at Austin Town Hall Park.

Research shows that people are more persuaded by personal stories (especially from young people) than by data.This year we will have a "Story Jam" with youth activists followed by a youth-led workshop where you can craft and share your climate story. Your story can be used to write Letters to the Editor, persuade elected officials or even family members!

Illinois Solar for All is hosting an in-person educational workshop for residents of Chicago’s West Side neighborhoods to learn more about solar energy and the Bright Neighborhoods initiative! This meeting will be co-hosted by the NAACP and AAABNA.
