One Earth Collective operates from the premise that communities of color and low-income communities are most disproportionately impacted by the climate emergency and longstanding environmental injustices.

Our mission is to harness the power of people through vibrant environmental programming that inspires action, facilitates learning, promotes justice, and fosters equity and inclusion to create resilient communities and a healthier planet.

Through our three program areas: One Earth Film Festival (reaching 50,000 attendees since 2012), One Earth Local and One Earth Youth Voices, we engage thousands of  people annually in grassroots, community-based programs focused at the intersection of the environment and social justice. Since 2010, One Earth Collective has invited people into our work – and towards inclusive, concrete actions against the climate and environmental justice crises – through the power of art, nature, activism and community and with a special focus on bringing in the voices and experiences of youth.

One Earth Collective has won a 2019 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) award from the United Nations of Greater Chicago, for goal #17, “Partnerships for the Goals.”

One Earth Collective’s Executive Director, Ana Garcia Doyle, has been named a Crain’s Chicago Business Notable Leader in Sustainability 2022.

One Earth Film Festival is grateful for a more-than 10-year strategic partnership with the City of Chicago Department of Environment.
