For people who live, work, volunteer, go to school, or worship in the Austin community on the West Side of Chicago.

Wear your favorite hoodie! This will be an outdoor event, weather permitting.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for dinner bites from three local Austin chefs, cider, s’mores, garden tours, and tabling activities by community organizations focused on health, food, culinary arts and small business resources. 

We’ll watch two short films with popcorn. After the film, hear a panel of West Side health and food experts talk about being a restaurant owner in Austin.

Then, settle in and watch youth finalists ages 14-25 perform “Verses & Vittles: A Lyrical Slam Experience with a Taste of Culinary & Wellness” Want to enter? Learn more here

The night will end with a hoodie raffle and dessert! You'll be able to taste at 8 kinds of Sweet Potato Pie cooked up by Westside home and professional chefs. Want to enter your pie into the contest? Learn more here.
